A joyous testament to the eternal power of a child's imagination. This classic tale comes to life for a whole new generation. With a little bit of magic, three actors and their simple props transform into a wise old rocking horse, a cavalcade of mechanical playthings, a kind-hearted fairy and, of course, a stuffed rabbit who is transformed by the love of a young boy.
"A certain magic takes over... and this production, like the Velveteen Rabbit, it comes thrillingly, wonderfully alive."" - New York Times
This is our 2nd TRU/WCT Young Company, and I couldn’t be more excited! The Young Company is an opportunity for TRU students to get their first professional experience performing in a WCT production. And this is a perfect production for it! The playwright, Kevin Del Aguira, was actually one of the stars of the Broadway production of Peter and the Starcatcher (he played ‘Smee’!) and you can see that in his writing – this play has all the imagination and theatrical invention of Starcatcher. Bring your little ones – they’re going to have a great time (and so will you!) - Daryl
