Artistic Director of Western Canada Theatre Company from 1976-1979, Frank Glassen was born in the former Yugoslavia and moved to Kamloops in 1952. During Frank’s time in Kamloops, he attended Kam High, where Tom Kerr was his drama teacher. Frank graduated from Kam High in 1961 and went on to study at UBC and became involved in a handful of acting stints. After his studies at UBC, Frank went to Montreal to attend the National Theatre School and continued his acting career for eight years. In 1969, Frank founded the Everyman's Theatre in Ottawa. Frank then moved back to BC to get a degree in teaching at UBC, which he followed by teaching at the National Theatre School. After being a drama teacher at McArthur Park Junior Secondary School for two years, Frank was recruited by WCT to be the new artistic director of the company when Tom Kerr left. Under Frank, the company, with much support from the Board, was instrumental in the opening of the Sagebrush Theatre.
