Western Canada Theatre Welcomes New Board of Directors President - Western Canada Theatre

Western Canada Theatre’s Board and staff are proud to announce new Board of Directors President, Beverley DeSantis. As a Director on WCT’s Board for the past four years, DeSantis is already a vital member of the WCT team.

“It has been an honour and a pleasure working with the WCT Board and team for the past several years,” says Beverley DeSantis, WCT’s new Board President. “I look forward to welcoming folks back into our venues, creating a sustainable future for theatre enthusiasts for generations to come.”

DeSantis recently announced her retirement from Tourism Kamloops, where she has served as CEO since 2016. In her tenure at Tourism Kamloops, DeSantis fostered strong community connections, supported tourism development and local businesses, and garnered regional and national recognition for the Kamloops region. Prior to arriving in Kamloops, DeSantis contributed to local business, community, and not-for-profit organizations in Alberta as the Chiu School of Business Program Coordinator at Bow Valley College in Calgary, and Director at Business Link Alberta.

In this transition, many heartfelt thanks are due to Tim Rodgers, who has served as WCT’s Board President for the past decade and been influential in much of WCT’s success and growth.

“I have seen this company triple in size during my term as Board President and am proud of the body of artistic work the Board has helped showcase,” says Tim Rodgers, WCT’s outgoing Board President. “As I step down, it is my pleasure to welcome Beverley DeSantis as the new President. Bev has an amazing background, including her work leading Tourism Kamloops through many changes and two strategic plans, which will be one of her first mandates at WCT. I look forward to working with Bev and the Board to ensure the sustainability of Western Canada Theatre in the years to come.”

In addition to the Board President appointment, WCT welcomes two new, incoming Board members, Jesse McCormick and Atish Patel. With the support of DeSantis and the entire Board of Directors, WCT is excited to continue the momentum of the 2021/22 Season and the long-awaited return to live theatre.
