At Western Canada Theatre, we rely on the generosity of our donors, our community and our partners to survive. Whether you are one of 34 donors who donated for the very first time this year or if you have donated dozens of times before, we appreciate and thank each and every one of you. No donation is too big or too small. The significance of your donations extends far beyond the numbers. They symbolize the importance of the Arts in Kamloops, and are the lifeline of our organization. Through the continued support of donors like you, we are able to provide high quality professional production at an affordable ticket price, we can provide professional opportunities both onstage and backstage to local emerging artists, and we can offer theatre education to thousands of local youth.
Bill Adams & Katie McCormack have been WCT donors and patrons for over 20 years. Their love of WCT started back in 1993, when the pair first moved to Kamloops. "We were excited to find WCT in Kamloops when we moved here. As season ticket holders, we were always so impressed by the quality and variety of the productions."
As long-time residents of Kamloops, Bill and Katie's philanthropic endeavours don't stop with WCT. "We support many organizations that help people that are less fortunate than us. We also believe a community also needs to support enriching experiences that foster excellence like arts and education. That is what sets WCT apart and why we are long-term donors to WCT. Community financial support is essential to make the business model work for live theatre in smaller cities. This is a great way for Katie and I to give back to our wonderful city."
Bill and Katie also believe that WCT is an important part of the Kamloops community. "WCT provides the community with a high level of professional theatre and brings this entertaining live theatre in an affordable way to our entire community. For many people, WCT may be their only opportunity to explore live theatre. Exposure to fine arts is an essential part in the quality of life for communities".
At WCT, we rely heavily on the generosity and philanthopy of donors like Bill Adams and Katie McCormack, and donors like you! Your support enables us to deliver exceptional productions and theatre education, ensuring our ability to consistently create outstanding theatre and actively engage with our community both on and off the stage. We deeply believe in the transformative power of theatre, and it's thanks to the generosity of donors like you that we're able to fulfil our mission.
