This showcase of local talent includes a diverse range of acts, from singer/songwriters to dancers, musical theatre to comedy, burlesque to a shadow play! The exciting mix of amateur, emerging and established artists is drawn from our local community. Local comedian and matchmaker extraordinaire Tara Holmes is hosting. Tracey, the playwright of last season’s women’s hockey hit GLORY and the director and choreographer of this season’s ELF – The Musical, is working on the show in collaboration with WCT’s Artistic Director James MacDonald. “WCT is excited to be shining the spotlight on Kamloops’ talented local performers, writers and artists, and is committed to advancing gender equality and inclusivity in our programming and activities. The All A’Broad Community Cabaret felt like a great way for us to celebrate International Women’s Day together,“ said James. The cabaret acts have all been inspired by IWD’s aims of celebrating women’s achievements, while leveraging women’s advancement, accelerating gender parity, reinforcing commitment to diversity and inclusion. The Kamloops YMCA-YWCA’s Violence against Women Intervention and Support Services are WCT’s charitable partner for The All A’Broad Community Cabaret, with proceeds to benefit the Y’s Women’s Emergency Shelter. Jacquie Brand, Director of Programs at Kamloops YMCA-YWCA Violence Against Women said, “As one of the oldest feminist organizations in Canada we feel that the cabaret has a great fit with YWCA’s heritage. We’re excited to be working with WCT and see this as a great opportunity to raise community awareness of our programs and to celebrate the resilience of the women our programming supports." Doors open at 7pm, and the show is 8-10pm. Seating is reserved throughout. VIP Tables of 4 are $100. Regular tickets are $20. Book your tickets at Kamloops Live!
