The following special resolution to amend the bylaws of Western Canada Theatre Company Society will be presented to the Society Membership to vote upon.

The Western Canada Theatre Board of Directors recommends that clause 5.3 of the bylaws be amended as below:

Current Clause:
All directors shall hold office for one or more periods of 2 years, and at each annual general meeting one half of the directors shall retire and the voting members entitled to vote for the election of directors shall elect directors to fill the positions of director open at that time.

Proposed Amended Clause:
All directors of the Western Canada Theatre Society Board shall hold office for not more than three (3) consecutive two (2) year terms but may elect to stand for election to the Board after a one (1) year absence from the Board. If on the expiry date of a director’s term, the director holds an executive, or other key position, then the term may be extended by not more than one (1) further two (2) year term by a vote of membership at the AGM. Efforts should be made to ensure that not more than one (1) half of the Board of Directors retires each year.

At each AGM, voting members entitled to vote for the election of directors will elect directors to fill the vacant Board positions.

Please note that voting on motions during the meeting is limited only to members who have a current membership in the Society. Anyone may purchase a membership prior to the meeting—become a member or renew your membership through the Kamloops Live! Box Office online or by calling 250-374-5483 (Monday through Saturday from noon to 5pm).

Memberships will also be available at the Lori Marchand Theatre on November 23 starting at 5pm. Memberships are $20.
