Not every Western Canada Theatre play is suitable for every audience member. Some plays are ideal for kids, some are clearly intended for adults, and sometimes it depends upon the specific maturity of our younger audience members. And certain plays may contain material that is triggering to some audience members.
As part of the enjoyment of the theatregoing experience is the surprise and discovery that occurs in watching the production, we do not wish to spoil that appreciation by divulging too many specific plot points. Strong Language Advisory. This political, feminist, and daring comedy, contains mature topics and profanity.
Suggested for ages 15 and older
While set in a hospital, the play does flash back to battle scenes of WWI, which may be traumatic for some audiences. Contains strobe lights and sounds of battle, as well as special effects and water-based haze.
Suggested for ages 12 and older
ELF - The Musical contains small amounts of mild adult references. Theatrical haze, fog, and holiday cheer are used throughout this production.
Suitable for all ages, but may be best enjoyed by those ages 7 and older
Side effects of watching WCT’s family-friendly Christmas production may include laughter, merriment, and awkward questions about the existence of Santa.
Meet My Sister is a fun comedy about family, relationships, and the possibility of criminal activity. Due to the nature of the play, it does feature some mild language and mature content.
Suggested for ages 13 and older
A rockin’, rollin’ musical, Buddy does include flashing lights, some mild language and one sad moment, quickly alleviated by a return to music.

Bright, smart humour balances dark revelations in this autobiographically-based comedy of coming to terms with middle-age. Mature themes, brief nudity, and strong language.
The bombing of Hiroshima and the lifestyle of swinging 1960s London are seen through the father’s eyes. Mature subject matter.
A coming-of-age story that follows a teenage boy through rites of passage of the 1970s, with associated mild profanity, a comic moment of scantily clad dancing, and mature subject matter.
Delightful, family-friendly puppet show, centred around a dog named Freddie.
